The majestic Singapore Flyer forms the backdrop for the F1 cars as drivers get as close to the barriers as possible and gear up to tackle the last two corners of the track in the race towards the finish line. Patrons at the Promenade Grandstand are ideally situated to enjoy the refreshing breeze at the Marina Bay, in addition to fantastic views of the cars as they enter the pit lane just ahead.
In 2019, Sergio Perez slammed his Racing Point against the wall at Turn 22 midway through the third practice session, damaging his right-rear wheel.
